I still ordered it because the measurements on the product description table didn't indicate that it was that big. It turns out that it is not. The watch fits perfectly around my wrist; and I'm a petite girl (5'3 115 lbs.). The leather band is not too shiny and seems to be of good quality. In a nutshell, the watch just looks good. It is definitely an understated, simple, and classic piece. This is the kind of watch you want to keep around for years. It is an elegant, classic watch that is easy to see. She is a chemist so the second hand is very useful for tritrations. The band is a little stiff, it took a while to 'curve' around her wrist. The band itself has a nice rich color and there is a Bulova logo on the buckle itself. Again, this watch looks rich.The problem is the thing doesn't work. It does not keep time--when the minute hand goes past the 12, it gains time. When it goes from 6 towards 12, it loses time. But it doesn't average out. By the end of the day it was over 90 minutes slow, causing my spouse to miss an appointment. Thinking it was a battery problem, I went to my local watch repair place to get a new battery installed. The battery tested fine, the repair guy said it was likely a bad gear; apparently common for the quartz module used in this watch. It would cost $65.00 to $75.00 to get it fixed. D'oh!
