The black background is a good alternative since it made the rest stand out. It has a second hand, a date and day calendar, and luminent hands which glow brightly in dark (which wasn't in the description even at Citizen website), and the design is simple elegant.I read a previous review about the glass surface, - it is true, my 3mm scratch showed up two days after I merely wore it. No matter how careful you are, this is meant to happen for this kind of surface. I asked a watchsmith and he said replacing it will cost around $100. At the price I paid (130+)I think it is a good catch compare to my previous watch (swiss army brand, 300+). I think the surface is probably what set the price differnce. I am okey with it though because of the price and I no longer need to replace battery every two years (which is also bad for water resistance). I... This is a fantastic watch and I am glad I purchased it!A few notes: the watch is a little darker than pictured. The black face adds to that illusion. Also, I have small wrists, which I worried about when making the purchase. However, the watch ended up being smaller than I expected. The watch face looks very natural and is not overly large. I purchased from the vendor NextDayWatches.com, which I found on Amazon. They are fantastic - they ship 2nd day air for less than $3! They also guarantee your purchase for 365 days. Also, they sell a watch resizing tool for $6 that allows you to remove the extra metallic bands yourself. The watch has glowing arms that makes it easy to tell time in the dark. I especially love that I do not have to buy batteries for my watch anymore. I initially placed the watch under a lamp when I first received it to charge up the battery. It has worked great and the face of my watch is not scratched yet. I try to be very careful with it. I took it to the jeweler the day I received it and had the additional links removed so it would fit my arm. I realized that that was the reason why all of my watches in the past had scratched up faces. |
